Who we are and what we value

The Vic/Tas Division Executive, and the values that guide our work.

Making a positive difference through evidence-based policy

We are focused on policies that will restore trust in our democracy and lead to better outcomes for all Victorians. You can learn more about our policy here.

Membership growth and engagement

As a volunteer led organisation, we are only ever as strong as those who step up to volunteer.

We remain focused on growing our member base, and engaging our members so as to grow the number of Australian Democrats working to connect community members, to listen carefully to what matters most within communities, and to work collaboratively across all parts of the community to find solutions and paths forward together.

You can help us with this goal by becoming a member of the Australian Democrats and volunteering to help us in any way that works for you.

We all bring different capabilities, and different levels of capacity, but as a community of volunteers we support one another and we have a common set of values and goals. Importantly, in line with one of our values, we promise to look for common ground, even when there are differences, in order to achieve a better Australia for ALL Australians and to contribute to a better world.

Running effective campaigns

We continue to work on brand awareness, and visibility and trust in our brand as an evidence-informed advocate for better and more sustainable outcomes.

We promise to act with respect, fairness, empathy, and compassion; supporting one another in tough times, striving to ensure no one is left behind; and respecting and preserving the planet for future generations.

You can help us spread the word by liking and following us on all the major social media channels, and sharing with friends and families.

We focus on fundraising to enable us to forward plan with confidence, and to be financially sustainable as an organisation. Click here to donate to us and help us campaign.
